I finally started my dash replacement project on my 258. After much deliberation decided to carefully remove the plastic dash trim and cover the entire existing dash area with acrylic. The plastic trim came off easily. I brought that to a local plastic fabricator and he made the new acrylic dash, heated and bent it to conform to the original plastic trim to which it will be installed. I have layed out the new electronics and he is going to take care of the cut outs. I'll update when I get it installed but so far easier than expected and gave me the blank slate to intergrate larger displays.

That really looks great with the acrylic in the second picture. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Did you complete the new helm? I’m doing a flush mount on my 265. Only using a 9” screen so cutting starboard to fit the original window.

Looking good! Bill Burke at B&B Fabrication in Manchester NH just finished the cutouts. Great guy to work with. Hopefully complete the install over the next couple of weeks. Please post your completed project.

Finishing up my Urban flush mount security install. Little extra peace of mind.

That is one hardened dash! Looks like it will be a struggle to get those electronics. I like that the U bolts are chrome, don't look bad at all.

Sketchywind, Wow this is the best flush mount electronics security I've seen on internet. Thanks for the idea I need to figure out how to build this. Mind if I ask you some questions? Is there a metal plate behind the electronics to mount the ubolts to? Would you do anything different if you did it again?
