Welcome aboard Joe. I urge you to get a survey before laying your hard earned money down once you find the 'right' boat. Lots of good deals these days. Ask away with specific questions and we will attempt to answer them. Don't forget to do a search (top right of page), there is a lot of information on this site offered bt some knowledgeable people.

I don't recall reading anything negative about the Sailfish model ever!

It's legend! Others have copied, just like the 20 foot walkaround but never succeeded the same nor for so many decades in production.

With the bracket model "G" and pulpit, the 252G is as long as the 282 last produced yet my 1992 was called a 25 footer.
I can explain this history and how could this be, if interested.

In 1994 the euro transom invasion occurred, and only one model Sail, no more three different models. For a short time a single diesel was made, few sold. The euro transom version lost cockpit in favor of the more bulbous stern.

Cabin is very large and tall considering, I'm 6 ft 1in, and plenty clear of ceiling.
Overnighter accomodations are fine. Closed head with HW shower possible (a positive with the ladies), and all the other goodies. The Marlin is actually a scaled up Sailfish euro transom style, even though the Marlin owners may never admit this.

Plenty of Sailfish owners too.

Mine is right outside in the driveway waiting for her annual return to the sea, her rightful place.
