I still need to take the time to learn how to post images and a signature pic. I enjoy checking out everyone’s Great Grady from posted images and in the Gallery.

The site administrators have been kind enough to add a few pics to the Adventure section my wife took of our boat Vedette this summer. Check out our new back deck awning for kicking back in the scorching sun. What an improvement!

To post pictures, you need to upload them on a website host. I use - http://www.myfishpix.com/gallery/index.php

Once you've registered, (it's free) and followed the instructiions to uploaded them, all you need to do is click on the photo, scroll down to the address link, ie - "UBBCode: http://myfishpix, etc,etc,etc jpg. Copy and paste that line on your post.
There is a size limit, (150k, I think?) so you will probably have to re-size your photo's. All pics must be in jpeg format.

Nice pics! You could almost use your dinghy as a bridge on that mooring :lol:

Are those moorings on that side of the Green Dock operated by the harbor patrol, or is there a different list to get one of those?

OnoEric, the moorings on that side of the pier are run by the folks at Joe’s Rent A Boat. 510-310-0455.
During the busy season, you can call to get an idea on availability, but its first come first serve. Now that the summer is winding down a bit, there will be moorings available over weekends, no worries. Also, there is a free shore boat service (must tip the guys though). A Shore boat ride is $4.50 per person, each way on the Harbor side. Ouch. Fyi, they pull these moorings in October for the winter.

Thanks to technology, you can eyeball the moorings in almost real-time to see how full Avalon and Two Harbors look using the Catalina Web Cams.

For Joe’s moorings, go to the Navigation drop-down menu on the left and choose Catalina Landing Cam. Pick Zoom Points “Catalina Landing” for a good look at the moorings on that side of the pier. The Zoom Point “Green Pier” let’s you see the time.
The Casino Cam gives you a view of the Harbor side of Avalon, etc.
If you go to the Two Harbors Cam and click on the “current conditions” and scroll down, they give you a mooring availability count in the various harbors there. We’ve been itching to spend a day or two in Cat Harbor (and Little Harbor where there are fire pits and heads on the beach too) on the back-side, but haven’t gotten to them yet….

I was pretty sure those moorings were handled separately from the others, and it's nice to know there is that option and how to inquire about one. Is that phone number correct... 510 area code?

When we go over, we usually side-tie to our friend's 48 foot Pacemaker, but last time we ended up on our own mooring up against the breakwall on the west side by the water dock. There are 4 or 5 moorings for small boats tucked up against the wall there. They were actually quite nice and calm

I like those moorings you are talking about. They seem more isolated as they are kind of away from everyone else.
