We have owned Grady’s for many years but our current is a 2019 235. Boat rides incredible. Layout for our family is perfect. Just some nitpicking issues that just keep coming. We have replaced many snaps on the canvas and the posts keep coming out of the fiberglass. We live them annually and perhaps we should do that more but it’s a pain. The mounts on the helm for the windshield are made of a sort of pot metal and will soon need to be replaced. Seems screws come loose fairly often and the seat that was once replaced is stapled together with staples that are not stainless or galvanized. For such a great boat purchasing is cutting corners that make no sense. Thoughts? Here is the underside of the helm bolster.

That may not be factory. You need stainless staples and preferably an air powered stapler. Use a staple remover like below. Try to get them out or you will have perpetual rust stains.

Fiberglass is hard and doesn't hold screws well. I bed most screws and snaps with a dab of 5200 and clean up. Screws get loose and with anything pulling on them they loosen up and start to saw the hole out. Especially enclosure tracks.

I have found this staple remover to be the best. It can lift staple evenly. Screwdrivers and other removal tools are ok but they lift one side and you need a pliers to twist out.

yes T50 MONEL staples from Arrow. They will not bleed a rust stain like Stainless Steel.

Treat them like gold. Don't let your wife & kids use them for projects.
