I don't understand what part you are referring to.
The major components are the seat, the seat swivel/slide, the pedestal post , and the pedestal base. On many Gradys the pedestal and base are one part.

I replaced both seats on my 1982. I used these

I removed the original brackets. I had to leave the passenger side bracket under the seat base....couldn't get it out through the access hole and didn't want to cut a larger one.

Then covered the holes with a piece of marine grade 3/4 ply.....sealed all around with 5200 and screwed down. Then through bolted the new seat bases.

Worked for me.
