Onboard chargers.

Finally found some small chargers to install onboard. Have been using tenders to charge up my batteries and we all know that takes awhile. Pain in the butt hooking 4 chargers up and getting them plugged in to charge.

Installed 2 NOCO Genius Gen 2 two bank chargers, one each side and power cords wired together. Much nicer and simpler. Happy with the addition. Have to get longer bolts as the 4" are a little short, didn't consider the thickness of the box wall, at least 1/4"-1/2", so need longer bolts. They tucked in nicely. 5 year warranty so figured I'd give them a try. Always used Minn-Kota chargers but they were to big for the locations I wanted to mount them.

Do you have (4) independent batteries each with it's own charger cables or is there (4) batteries configured in two banks with batteries wired in parallel?

4 batteries, 2 on a battery switch for cranking and electronics, 2 in series for 24 volt trolling motor. 1 two bank battery charger for each pair of batteries each with their own lead. Two batteries in each rear box.

I have 3 batteries and was debating adding a 4th, maybe even a 5th. I hate running out of battery power .. lol

4, and the chargers are getting expensive, unless I add a 3 and a single.. just not sure how I want to handle all that.. may just add a 4th. All the electronics running all the time just makes me nervous... heh

Last bay boat had 6 i think.. 3 for the trolling and 1 for the engine and 2 for the electronics plus to act as a backup for the engine.

Any reason why you chose the 20A over the 8A model?

10 amp per bank versus 4 amp per bank. I need my batteries charged overnight and ready to go by morning. The 2 and 4 amp are slow if batteries are down pretty far like my trolling batteries can get after a full day of trolling. These charges also maintain once they reach full charge. This week is my shake down of the chargers and so far so good, plug them in every evening and they are charged and ready to go in the morning. So far very satisfied with NOCO's.

with 2 batteries per bank, 10A is the way to go. the stock charger is 15A in my boat.
