I’m new to this site so bare with me
Just repowered a 2006 fisherman with aSuzuki 250 .
Can any tell me we’re the cav. Plate should be in ref to keel, because when on plane it is two inches below water level. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The anti-ventilation (cavitation is a totally different thing than ventilation) plate on your setup will be roughly even with the bottom of the keel. If you are confident in your assessment that it's 2" too low while on plane, raise the engine one hole and go for another ride.

Thank you so much for your reply and I did raise it one hole and it improves steering at low speed tremendously but steel under water by inch and a half or two should I or would you raise yours another hole thanks

Also by raising it one hole ,the plate above the prop is now maybe 1 inch above keel

In that case, I would wonder if maybe your measuring just isn't spot on? It's an awful hard area to get an accurate measurement at. And/or, you might find where the anti-vent plate sits changes based on the speed you're going. Possibly you're measuring when you're "just" on plane? Try going faster. Also... make sure you not confusing the "spray" with "clean water".

However, if you get into the upper range of your RPM band, or even a tad higher, with a light load... and you're not having performance issues in turns while at speed... I'd say you're good to go.

I have it mounted on the third hole, prop is 3 x 16 x 18 1/2 ,and half a tank of fuel two guys gear ,I have got 52 miles an hour @6 rpm ,35 mph @43rpm . 40 mph @ 48 rpm. Does that sound right to you handles very well very responsive getting around 3.5miles per gallon at 35 mph

I consistently find that mounting engines one hole lower than the very highest point gives the best performance but your numbers look good, especially wot rpm. You could try raising it, go for a bigger prop, get it at 6k wot and hit 55mph. It’s a balancing game. Nice boat. Beast of an engine.
