Installing new trailer steps that only were available in white.
While they look clean today, in a very short period they will look like crap I imagine.

Any suggestions on some kind of surface preparation/protectant that will make them at least cleanable down the road?20200218_174434.jpg

Actually, from my experience with those, they are so slick that they don't really get all that dirty. If you get scratches in them, then the scratches will hold dirt. You can clean the step areas with a short bristled brush. As far as protecting them from UV, they seem to hold up really well to that, too. But if you wanted to take an extra step, spray them with 303 once a month.

Could try the plastic that is installed on vehicles. Get a sheet and cut to size for the step areas. Could also put a rough piece of anti slip tread material that is used on stairs on the step areas.
