Is there any precautions that should be taken before powerwashing the Grady this weekend? I plan on trying to clean up the walkarounds and bow areas before they get too dirty this summer. Looking for some advice.
I use my power washer on my Grady whenever I can; i.e. about 2 or 3 times a year and it works pretty good With that said, it’s not a commercial grade power washer, (I think 1700 PSI) and yes I am cautious about where I spray it and the amount of force used. With a high grade washer you can definitely cut items that you wouldn’t want to, that would cause irreparable damage. It’s also probably going to take the wax off, so I’m usually prepared to really begin work once the power wash is done. Yes use it, but be careful.
Even momentarily, don't misdirect that nozzle at speakers or instruments, compartment doors, lights like nav lights, horns, windows, fuel/oil fill ports, fuel tank vents., antennas.
I think that pressure is way too high, you may want to lower it.
When you think you are at the right distance away...take one step back.
To piggy back off of BobP, make sure you have the appropriate tip for the intended job. (I was PWing my mooring line and hit my foot for a nanosecond and it cut the skin like a filet knife, drew blood-alot)
