Since my post on braid, I have been checking prices and looking for sales on powerpro braid. Finally, I came across this site and pulled the trigger last week.

They allow back orders for those items out of stock...

I have seen 500 yds at $36 elsewhere but that’s typically the moss green color. White, yellow and red never seem to be discounted this much.

I use the yellow sometimes so rods have different colors when untangling....
Don't go crazy with 80# test. 30# is enough for everything except 50# -80# tuna outfits

Your "go to" jigging rod should have Depth Hunter...don't use chinese knock-off brands their pattern is useless.

I was looking for that depth hunter but never saw any promotions for it in the past 2-3momths. I have it on my list and will buy next. There does not seem to be many stores selling it

I went with the 30lb in white, which will be my standard for most of my poles. Also, got the 50lb in yellow as I bought a penn vi 7500 last year that has 30lb mono on it right now and figured I should upgrade it to a stronger test. I’m not really sure how I will use that reel, it was an impulse buy, saw it for 120 as part of a combo, and pulled the trigger.

the 7500 probaby hold 500yds of 50# braid...that could be a good popper/jig rod for tuna under 70#s if the rod has balls.
