Hello all. I just repowered with new twin Mercury 200 V6 four strokes. Reaching out to see if anyone else has and what props you are running with. It is a 1996 Sailfish. Original props on the 200 0X 66’s were Yamaha 17m and 17 Ml. those are the only markings on those but I believe the pitch is 17 and the diameter is 15. I measured from hub center to blade end (7.5”).

thank you.

Sometimes there is a diam/pitch spec stamped inside the hub end that is nearest to the gear box.( The prop has to be removed to see it. Sometimes dirt or corrosion covers up the spec.
It can be a mistake to assume that comparisons between what others are running are valid if the motor specs are not taken into account. The LU gear ratio and the WOT spec are important. The motor HP is also a factor Also you need to specify what your goals are for performance. Usually that refers to ability to get on plane or hole shot, top end speed, and fuel efficiency.

Your old prop specs are probably meaningless.
Probably not a lot of new Mercs on this forum. I know there are a couple recently.
But your Merc dealer probably get you started in the right direction. Or google PropGods/Powertech and talk to them

Emerin1, please keep us posted as I am considering those same motors. I also have those same props...17m/17ml. For my 200 HPDI's, these are propped perfectly as I get 49mph top end if not too overloaded and the hole shot it nothing less than stellar!
I would think those motors propped right might give the 2 strokes a run for the money, but hoping to hear back on your experience!

I stopped at the marina yesterday. They ordered a pair of 15 x 15.5 and they arrived yesterday. Did not Remember to jot down the brand.. rigging is done and boat should go in soon. The props were the last piece (and the poor weather we are experiencing in SE Connecticut). I will post the results.. They repowered another sailfish last year with Mercury 225’s and are using the same props..
