We have a pair of 2022 150's coming june/july. I would like to get some thoughts and opinions on prop sizes. I have an 87 24 explorer with what will be a new armstrong bracket for mounting the engines. the boat holds 186 gallons of fuel no water tanks. Its got a well built hard top on it and we typically run it with plenty of gear on board. Can anyone offer any starting point advice for prop sizes.
also if anyone is interested I have a s.s. merc prop in good shape if someone could use it.

I don't have a boat of your model but I have had a couple of boats with Yami 150 4s. If you run heavy a lot, I would guess you will be down around a 15 inch pitch. Depending on the hull efficiency and the total weight maybe 17P. Thats strictly a wild guess and I'm on my second beer, so....

Voyager 248 W twin tanks and hard top and twin 150 SSII. Running three blade yamaha 15x15 pitch stainless props (Saltwater series from 20+ years ago). Nothing special, old school driveline. Slightly under propped - but very easy to power out of the hole as well as dealing with lousy seas with throttle control. Top speed is about 45 (which I rarely ever do.) Cruise 25-30.

The 258 Journey was similar in size/weight to your boat and came with twin f150's as an option. Grady has a performance report with prop specs. Email them and they will send it to you.
Be aware the old SWII engines have different gear ratios than the f150's. Prop comparisons would be apples to oranges.

Good evening. Running a 180 Sportsman with Yamaha F150 - prop is factory standard, which was (confirmed by Grady customer service) 13.75xM19. Prop is stainless. Tops out at 6,000rpm WOT and 50mph maximum. That’s with one person, half a tank of gas and minimum gear on board. Hope that may help.
