pulling gas out of my grady marlin

Just wondering as I sit here in Fort Pierce waiting for Dorian if the situation gets really bad and we need gas, well. I guess there is 150 gallons in the boat. If I really need it how would you go about getting some out.

Oklahoma passport......AKA...siphon hose.

You may find out like I did on my boat that there is no way to get a siphon hose all the way into the tank. There must be some sort of arrangement that stops the hose from getting into the tank. I had to open the sender hole in order to siphon (actually hand pump) out gas. That was after Sandy.
Note that if you fill the tank, removing the sender can result is a lot of gas pouring out unto the bilge.

In an emergency you could remove line going into F/W separator and put a pump on the fuel line. It would be slow, but you'll have fuel.

I use a hose with a spare primer bulb attached, once you get it flowing the siphon takes over. I will never use my mouth again like I did when younger and dumber.

Open your access port and remove the fuel sending unit. Then use one of these:

Get 2. They don't hold up too long. But at that price, they are sort of disposable items.

Or...go down with gas cans to the marina...really doubt those guys are running out of gas.

Used one of these pumps, pumped fast.

Close valve. disconnect the fuel line from the engine. put hose in can lower than filter. open valve. Use the ball to start the flow(or attach an electric pump). Then you get filtered gas.
