Never noticed it before, but when looking at posts under “new posts”, there is a purple eyeball symbol to the right of the thread title in most of the threads. What does it indicate?

Thanks, but are you sure? I rarely subscribe to a thread, but almost all are marked with the eyeball.
If I click on watched threads, which I assume are subscribed threads, there are only six total

That is generally what it does, but might have something elese going on with your settings.

I don't know about 'subscribing" to a thread.

The eyeball appears whenever you reply to a thread. From now on, I'll have a purple eyeball next to this thread since I replied.
