Just winterized the boat and I have 2 issues I need to deal with before spring.
1. Starbord engine.I just drained the lower gear oil and it came out a milky grey color. Water is leaking into the lower unit. I am assuming it is seals that need replacing. Has anyone tried to do this job themselves? I am not sure how big a job it is and I am considering trying to do the job myself.
Both engines a 200HP Yamaha 2 strokes 1991.

2. Port engine has been dropping down about 5 or 6 inches when sitting at the marina for a few days. I believe it is a hydrolic seal that needs replacing. The questions is does the engine have to be removed from the transom in order to be fixed? Is it a big job?

Any help with these questions would be appreciated.

can't help other than to say you should be dropping the locks once the engine is raised. it takes the strain off the cylinders. ron
