Hi Guys:
I have a 2007 Magic Trail Aluminum tandem axel bunk style trailer that came with my boat. In 2014 right before my annual Keys trip my trailer guy sprung it on me I needed new brakes on a wheel. So I took the time to order new Kodiak brakes, but they did not fit. I had 3 days before my scheduled departure and no trailer. I went and bought a trailer from Seeles in Charleston.

My magic trail has been sitting at my house. I want to sell it. So here is my question. Do I invest in some new parts and fix it up or should I just list it and sell it as is? I know it needs brakes done and the sun has put a hurting on the carpet on the bunks. Would I get my money back plus some fixing it up? What do you all think?

Of course this is just my opinion, but I think you would sell it easier/faster if it was all ready to go. It won't cost much to have a shop do the brakes - they're actually pretty straight forward and, obviously, even easier without the boat on it. Any local garage should be able to do this for you. The carpet is super easy - it's just stapled on (with SS or Monel staples). Pull the old stuff off and staple the new stuff back on. Or, put plastic caps on instead of the carpet. Once you get it all together, get it inspected, as well. If you make it "turn key", you increase the number of possible people that would be interested in it. Trailers in good working order and condition are often hard to come by.

I do my own trailer repair. Last may I took off all the tie down junk and put on stainless steel Kodiak stuff. I could do the work and maybe that's what I should do. I was going to ask $1,200 as it is. If I do this work I would want $2,300 or so depending on what brakes I buy and install. Thanks for your input.

Someone down here was looking for a 22' trailer...I'll see if I can find out who it was.
