I'm not going to be on the boat until this weekend so I won't have much time to investigate any of this personally, nor can I read through any manuals as they are on the boat. So here are the stupid questions:

1. Where is the through hull for the A/C water intake? This is the first time I've messed with the A/C on this boat and want to make sure everything is working properly before dragging the wife out to overnight.

2. Is the fridge controlled by a ACC switch on the dash or is there a switch elsewhere?

Also, does anyone have a companion seat for the 282 they might be interested in swapping for a regular helm seat?

Thanks

not sure about A/C (don't have) but my fridge comes on automatically when i turn on the battery swithces;

to adjust coolness, reach inside of fridge to find a knob in the back to rotate for cooler and to turn off; fridge lite will stay on as long as battery switches are on;

Mine turns on with the batteries too. Independent of the ACC switch.

Thanks everyone.

I found out about the water intake for the A/C. From what I gather, it is not a self priming pump though. I'll mess with it one night this week and report back.

My 272 AC intake (after market) is under the cabin sole. If you have a Dometic or March pump it is self priming. When I trailered mine (now in water) I would close ALL thru hulls before pulling out, just in case.
I recently had to disassemble my raw water pump. If you have problems, email me.

Those pumps have to be below the water line when located (along with strainer) and usually then self prime, otherwise they don't, no mater waht unless hand pumped up thru it.
Make sure ball valve is open prior to turning it on.

The AC will over heat the condenser and shut down if water starved. Look outside hull on side for water coming out thru hull.

The pump on OEM is typically at the stern in bilge.

If you go to Grady website find your year model owners manual and there is a diagram showing where everything is for the A/C system; the intake water thruhull with valve, the AC itself, water outlet, and cold and return vents.

After a a short time after turning on and T stat set below ambient, you will feel cold air as long as water is coming out thru hull on side of hull.

Thanks for the help everyone. I went down to the boat yesterday afternoon and got the A/C working. It did take the pump a little bit to prime, but after that, she blew cold as can be. We're surprising the kids with an overnight trip this weekend.

I checked the fridge, nothing came on. The knob in the rear of the fridge is missing to control temp, so maybe it has been shut off.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a replacement fridge? (No, I'm not replacing b/c of a knob, it's got a fair amount of rust on it).

It is very expensive - get replacement knob, check fuse and AC panel, I believe it has duel feeds. It is all in the owners manual on GradyWhite Website.
