Re-build or buy new?

I have 1997 208 With a F200 on her and it rides like a dream. Awesome engine and boat. I would not put anything less then a 175hp on that hull. I don't have a hard top.

Thanks again for the reply's. One suggestion that makes some sense to me is to go with a 150-4 stroke. The price new is less than a 200 HPDI (2 stroke) and the weight is about the same. The 150 performance on the same boat, recently re-powered was 4000 rpm-24 mph, 4400 rpm-28 mph and wide open, 5500 rpm- 38 mph. I've only had my boat up to 34 mph once and usually the water is not that flat.

F 150 is bullet proof. WOT on that motor is 5900-6000

Retiring right?? Why spend all that money on a 4-stroke. You'll need new controls and everything. I would buy a good used motor like you have or and OX66 for about $4K. Hang it, plug and play. What made your motor blow?
