Reinstalling Vent Window on a 300 Marlin

My vent window on my 2012 Marlin 300 came out, due to a bad rubber latch. I have a new rubber latch and I'm trying to reinstall the window, but there seems to be a special technique to get the spine of the window back in the track. Any suggestions on how to do this ?

Start with the vent wide open, line it up, and slowly close until it goes together. Then install the latch in the glass.
