I'm debating on raising my companion seat 5 inches and i know I need to remove the bolts from the storage compartment underneath. What I'm not sure of is how to remove the back/bolster that is attached to the port side? Has anyone done this?

Should be all one piece with 4 bolts going thru the fiberglass box. Remove the nuts and washers and it should pull off.
I'm having a box guy look at the same thing. A 2X3' box with a 5" lift with 2 drawers. Hopefully I'll get to lift the seat to make it easier to see out the windshield (complaint by my mates) and give me some additional storage.

Im looking to do the exact same thing as you! It appears tho that the backrest/bolster portion below the side window is attached some how. I tried wiggling it today just to see if I could lift it up and off, but no luck.

Looks like you have a plastic insert in front of the bolster, behind the folded door. May have to remove that, and see if you can get to the fasteners that way.

Mine is below (very similar). I'll post some pics of it in pieces.

On my old 02 marlin there were screws down low you accessed through drains they put in the material to let moisture out. After removing the screws they just lifted off. Hope this helps .

I can’t figure out how to get my bolsters off. I see the 3/8” diameter drain holes on the bottom of the bolster pad but I see foam inside. Also, I can see that a screw goes through the bolster and into the fiberglass gunnel side panel but I don’t see how getting access to the edge of the screw head is going to help me to remove the screw even if I dig around in the foam and find the screw head. I can see the bolster clips looking between the fiberglass and the bolster so I understand how that would work, but I just can’t figure out how to get access to the screwheads. Any advice?

Ok. That sounds like a good plan. I should have dug areound in that hole more to find the screws.. Thank you!
