Last summer while departing from the shell gas station on Key Largo an idiot, retired coast guard even, pulled into the gas bay as I was pulling out and came inside the turn radius of my boat and trailer. My boat crushed his Cadillac SVX or what ever mirror and my trailer fenders did a number on his bumper.
The bay next to me waa empty as I started my truck and checked my mirrors. I gently pulled forward and he rushed in while I was moving . anyway, I have a Cadillac kiss as it were with the rubber scuff marks from his mirror on my boat. I never filed an insurance claim as Monroe County deputy did not find fault or issue a ticket. So, my deductible I would eat anyway for damage less than a grand I imagine.
I am curious as to any ideas on removing the marks. It appears no real damage to gel coat. I tried some rubbing compound or oxidation remover from Maguiers today and it removed some of it. Any other ideas? Thanks.
