Replacing Beckson Hatches

When I replaced mine a few years back all had in inner seal (more roundish) and a thin black rubber seal with holes for the screws. Maybe they are not providing now??

Beckson got back to me today. GW plates are a special color. They will take my order.

I think it is the tan they offer but it could be custom. Good to see they worked with you. I clearly remember a flat black rubber ring with the 6 mounting holes that was installed between the plate base and the deck. They don't offer these now. Looks like I stand corrected.

I used the beige screw-in dimple model on my eurotransom and for access to the seacocks in the cockpit. I left all others as pop ins. The model was DP-62N which is the beige color I believe GW uses.
I picked the dimple as Beckson had them on clearance for $10 or so. I'm guessing they had excess at the time.

I’ll take pics once I receive mine but I believe the Grady Color is “36”... I ordered DP64-36, which are the screw ones with diamond pattern. Supposedly the Grady ones are pop outs but it’s a kit and they can convert it to screw ins.

That is the correct color code. I just ordered DP65-36 which is 6" pop-out diamond pattern.

The pop outs "look" better in my opinion, but the screw in types "are" better.
Nice to know there is a GW color available for them now.

Yeah - He said it was a kit and they can make whatever type of deck hatch type (pop up vs screw in).

Interesting thing is that they didn’t put “Beckson” in the middle. Feels like something is missing.

Replaced 3 of mine earlier today when I took out the fuel tank panels (Thanks KY Grady for the walk through!).

These really should be the standard. My Aux tank up front had some pitting which makes sense as saltwater comes in through those small thru hulls when rocking. If the hatch was secured better, it might not have happened.

For those interested, I attached some pics of what the tanks looked like (dirt/ grime was concentrated by the hatches!), the pitting by the Aux Tank, and after the new hatches were installed. Ignore the filthy deck, just got back from the marina and went right to work.
