Replacing Generator's Cord

Hi guys

Just got an '02 330 Express that I've been fixin' up.

Found that the generator's 30 A cord is in poor condition and want to replace it. I was wondering where the cord leads to once it goes down into the aft bilge to stbd.

Cord is the flat white 10/3 in this picture headed down and to the left.

In the Owner's Manual
It goes to transfer switch at the AC panel in the cabin


If you are going to replace make sure you get the right marine wire for AC circuits. Should have Black/White/Green 10 gauge stranded wire.

On my 2007 330 the generator power feeds the AC distribution panel in the cabin. There are also connections to the voltage control box which, on my boat is behind the port side aft cabin access panel, just forward of the air conditioning compressor.

Thanks for your replies. I got in there and brother it's gonna be a PIA to change the whole thing out. However I did take the change to inspect all connections as well as all I could see of the rest of the cord and it looks great.

What I will do at the moment is solder and waterproof 6 ft of 10/3 flat white marine, just like oem and replace the damaged section as well get a new hubbell 30 amp male for the end and hope it works out.

I may not understand what you are doing, but if your are splicing in a section of wire, I would not solder the 10/3 wire. The best method might be to buy a splice kit which will provide a better electrical and mechanical connection. There are terminal type connections and linear splice connections that would work better and be easier.

for an AC connection I would probably use a junction box
