If below the water line, don't use stainless.
In many cases access to the fittings is difficult, especially the helm drains and the live well drain and overflow. Some years require a new access plate to be installed.
Thrus like the bilge outlet as well as the other higher up thrus are fine with the better brand plastics.

Just did the helm/fish box thru hulls on my 90 204 Overniter. Took the under seat tackle box out from under the passenger seat to gain port side access....made it easy. Starboard side alittle tougher.....access thru the round hatch cover in front of the helm seat pedestal.....not much room to work but doable. I used plastic, since the originals lasted 23 years.

I replaced all of mine with SS mostly all purchased directly from Grady Dealer. Pricing was good in comparision with what I would pay for Attwood or Perko fittings. I trailer so used all SS, but if kept in water, recommend the Bronze for anything below waterline as others suggest.

3 of my original plastic fittings were cracked and 2 of them were letting water in. It is too easy for plastic to fail over SS I felt, so this is the route I took and they look amazing! I used 4200 to bed them. The fun part is getting to them for sure!
