Looking to repower my 95 268 islander with twin 225 4 stroke. Anyone had this upgrade done? Any pointers or threads are appreciated. How can you tell if the transom is wet?

Remove the screws from the garboard plug . If water runs out immediately, you have your answer. If it doesn't then place a dish under it and wait overnight for a drip. You can push an icepick in the screw holes at an angle to see if the wood is sound or rotten. If you do that then drive a softwood sliver in the screw holes before replacing the screws.
