Just replaced our 1993 150 Hp Evinrude that was the origional motor on the 1994 192 Tournament.

Went with the Evinrude Etec G1 due to the weight (418 lbs) as the origional motor was about 375 lbs. The Etec G2 150 is heavier (496 lbs) and also more money although it has some very nice features.

The boat was set up with a 17 pitch prop which the installers says is over propped. He is waiting for a Rebel 15 or 16 pitch SS prop to come in.
This should increase rpm by around 300 rpm I am told to get it closer to 6000 rpm full throttle.

The origional motor had a 15 x 17 aluminum prop.
Has anyone else gone through the repropping process with the 192 and which prop did you end up with?

With my 192 , it was a 98, I went from a Johnson Ocean Runner to a Yamaha F150. I don't remember size of prop but I ditched aluminum for steel. You get less flex and more power with steel. Also, you can fix a steel prop way better than aluminum should you hit something. Go with steel and boat with confidence like a real man, like Superman.

According to the motor dealer a Rebel stainless steel prop can provide 10% more speed due to stronger or more cupping which makes it an easy decision.
