Repowering a 2004 273 Chase

What engines did you decide to go with? I have an 07 273 and need to repower, I currently have 250s and love them. Looked at 250 susukis and could get a great price but it would be 100 extra pounds on the transom.
 
How do the scuppers sit with the extra weight on the transom? We keep our boat in the water and they are half under water as it is. Our high speed water intakes on the lower unit are submerged too. Not a fan.

Do you notice similar performance compared to the yamaha 250s?

If the boat is an 04 model year, the last two digits would be 04. If they are not, the boat is not an 04 model me thinks.
 
2002 was the first year of the 273 and it was designed for 4strokes...mine came with 225s as I have owned it since new. I have no scupper issues....if your boat is a 263 or older you will need to consider that.
 
I'd probably go twin F250s given the 500HP max rating on the hull. I think these are the best 250HP motors out there. Zukes 2nd if you have good local service.

i was asking drew since he says his boat is a 99 and he has the full running surface which didnt "officially" start until 2000 as far as im aware
