Question for the guys out there that repowered their 330 Express with 250's: which shaft length did you guys use?

Chris

Why not repower with 300s. My 330 is fine with 250s but 300s would be better fit and burn less fuel - at least that's what a factory yamaha guy told me recently. No idea on shaft length.

Thank you Bill. The 250's are on the boat I just surveyed before finalizing purchase. The engines seemed to sit a bit low. Plus the fact that the gauges were not swapped out at time of repower (they don't work), leads me to believe there might have been some corners cut.

Bill, are your 250's mounted to the transom with the bolts through the top holes or the second ones down. These are mounted to the transom with the top holes. Because of this, when I tilt the engines up all the way and turn the steering wheel, part of the steering rod seems to hit the transom. Hard to describe but the surveyor is looking into the shaft length and the engine mounts.

Looking for any insight from anyone with knowledge.

When I tilt mine up, nothing hits. Just a tad of lower unit by prop is in the water. I can send ya pics if you want.

I'll check the hole location and let you know. Mine is a 2007 and I don't think either sterring rod hits.

Mine are in the top holes on the engine bracket.

Grady,

Any pics would be great. The boat seems to sit low in the water, normal? Pic from the stern of the mounts and a profile would be great.

Thank you in advance greatly appreciated!
