You should check out the Grady White website, they have all of the old brochures for the older years and models of boats on it. Per GW, it says the maximum horsepower for your hull is 400 hp, which would make me think that yes you could. Although, I've heard some of those Yamaha 350's are quite heavy, which would make me think that a phone call to GW to double check would probably be a good idea.

What about going with a Yamaha F300? They're only about 550 lbs dry weight, or just about exactly 200 lbs lighter.

Thats a lot of added weight. In addition, I would not take a F350 of that year if it were offered to me free.( just my opinion)

trying to find one. know of any? thanks
Not personally, no. What's your location and budget? I like to look at the outboard motors for sale on BoatTrader.com as you're dealing with a lot of dealers as opposed to a random person on say Craigslist or the like.

port charlotte, florida. thank you
If you click on that link I sent you, there's a Boat and Motor Superstores in Palm Harbor, Florida as well as a Boaters World in Lake Placid, Florida that both say they have 2020 F300's in stock. Whether that's actually true or not, I couldn't really say, but probably worth a phone call at the least. Also, for Suzuki there's Palm City Yachts in Stuart, Florida as well as Diamond Motors Marine in New Smyrna Beach, Florida that both claim to have Suzuki DF300's and DF350's in stock as well as several others.

I agree with others. Stay away from the F350 and do with the F300 if a Yamaha. I'd also check out Suzuki if you have service in your area.

Been looking as well. Have the same boat and motor as Blinkie. Have not contacted them yet but have been looking at Outboard Specialties site. They are over in Pompano. Waiting on new trailer to move my boat, which is in Homestead, to Lake Wales FL then up to Greenbackville VA. I would go with Suzuki 300. Weight will be your main limiting factor.

Blinkie, I am curious. The Islander I purchased was orinally from NJ, then in 2016 found it's way down to Port Charlotte. Apparently the boat has been sitting the last 2 years as the owner passed away. Was stored on a lift. Is it possible that you have seen this Islander there? 20220322_151742.jpg

No, this one was bought new in 1995 in Sarasota for $50000.00. Then was sold to a guy in Punta Gorda and I bought from him 15 months ago. Was not on a lift when I bought it but is now.

Great. How was your 250 running? I have not run mine as it needed service when I purchased. It will be used for cruising the Delmarva peninsula as we have a house near Chincoteague VA. Look forward to enjoying ours. Have a 20' center console for pulling our crab pots up there. 20201003_165711.jpg

I have a 300 Suzuki AP on my 96 Islander. Weight about 650 wet. Cockpit scuppers out of the water at rest. Make sure you replace your thru hulls and hoses on those 1995 models before you repower. The 300 Suzuki pushes the Islander Nice once you get the prop figured out.
