Current owner of a Freedom 335/dual 425s. Super happy with the boat overall and I do a lot of fishing. I'm having trouble finding a creative way to store 4 boat rods on the boat. These are conventional rods (6-6.5ft length with Penn Senator style reels). I only use them on the boat so hauling them on and off is not ideal.
I have been keeping them in the port cabin on the "couch" but wife gets mad that the cabin is unusable without removing all the rods. I don't want to store them in the outside rod holders or under the gunnels outside where the outriggers are stowed because its not good for the gear to bake in the sun and elements. I wish there was some kind of a pass through to stow them. I've considered mounting them under the hardtop but the surface is very uneven so that would be difficult to and probably a custom job.

I figured that I can't be the old one with this conundrum. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks so much!

I made this tackle storage unit for the top bunk of my 232. I can store up to 25 plano boxes. Some of the slots are for large boxes or for the storage of two.IMG_0596.JPG

Unfortunately there are no rod holders built into the cabin. I had a freedom 275 that did have a small rack with a pass through (for rods) to under the seats on the bow seating. Nothing like that on this boat. Here are 2 photos of the cabin I found online (one looking in from door and one looking out towards closed door). The photos are from the web.

Google "Rod Grommets". They may help you by allowing rod butts and/or rod tips to pass thru bulkheads.

BUT...you did mentiond the "W" word so there is not much chance of ever resolving your problem
