Does anyone know where to get some replacement o rings for the round pry out inspection plates in my 02 265 I believe they are 8 inch. Or has anyone replaced the origonal pry out ones for the screw in type

You can get them from Beckson Marine as well. They are the manufacturer.

When I bought my 2000 Seafarer a couple years ago, the pop out pie plates would fall out from wind, water hose, or just choppy water. It must have been an ongoing problem, because the previous owner had left several packs of new ones in the drawer under the seat. Replacing them did nothing to improve their hold.
I removed the O-rings, put a number 64 rubber band in the groove as a spacer, and put the O-ring back on top of it. It gave the plate a very snug fit, that you had to press in firmly in order to seat it. I have not had one pop out since.

Most marine supply stores will have the o-rings. Check your old plates first though. hey can dry out and get brittle. New plates are not all that expensive and easy to replace ( do not use 5200:))

I replaced all on my 265. I've been looking for the thread here I thought I talked about it but can't find it.
I wanna say they are 6" not 8". I say that because I saw a super great deal on some 8" on ebay and ordered them and they turned out to be too big. They are sized by inside diameter.
I got the dimple finish in white not trying to match gelcoat. I used screw type in the motorwell because I don't trust the popout type there.

I also recored the bilge hatch and replaced the pie hole with a big rectangle Tempress hatch. A pie hole there is just stupid.
 
Replaced all my pop ins in the floor panels with the screw in Beckson ones. Much more of a positive seal than the pop in. Lubricated all the new O-rings with silicone grease as I was installing.

I would opt for the screw type as well. I have an 8" pop in on the bracket of my '78 Kencraft that would keep popping up just sitting on the trailer. I surmised that the sun was heating the bracket causing air expansion and forcing the cap off. Drilled a tiny hole in the middle and problem solved. Air escapes with minimal water intrusion.

Pop outs in the splash well, or outside the transom, should not pass any sort of boat building standards. I had two pop outs in the splash well of my previous tournament, and I drilled a small hole through the ribs on the bottom, and connected them underneath with 100 pound mono, to keep them from washing overboard if one popped out.

I'm leaning toward 4200 for all of these hatches. I believe silicone was used at the factory and it seems only to last a short while. Maybe the pressure and the ridges hold the water out, but the silicon seems to let go from the gelcoat. Just an observation.
