Does anyone have any experience installing outrigger bases to the hard top of 04 Grady 330 express? I installed Rupp z30 bases with 18ft Rupp outriggers, I used backing plates on the bases but I'm still concerned with how much weight is distributed to the bases. I know the newer Grady's have a welded plate on the frame of the top. I just mounted it thru the fiberglass hard top. Do you think this will work? Or are there any other recommendations?

I just put tacos on mine. I can get some pics of location tomorrow if you want.

For long term use, the bases need to be mounted, welded, onto the metal frame of the hardtop.

For what it's worth, my Lee's sidewinder bases are mounted to the hard top without any welding (done by the PO). I have 18' carbon riggers and often pull heavy bars -- no issues in 5+ years.

Thanks for the information, much appreciated!

I mounted taco top guns years ago. No issues. I used a backing plate on bottom, wedge plate on top (cancels hardtop rolloff) and tube spacers so there is no compression of the hardtop when I tightened them down.
