Sailfiish Windshield washer spray connection question

The rubber hose that runs to the windshield wiper on my boat is not connected to the the node that comes out of the hull. There appears to be a stem that was connected to the hose broken off. Has anyone replace one of these. Does it sound like I have to replace the node? not sure how it is connected to the water system. I was actually considering just leaving it the way it is since the water still sprays up onto the window.

I have an 06 Marlin and had the entire windshield washing assembly apart last weekend. Not sure that the system your boat is the same (although I suspect that it is), but on mine there is a small stem that screws into a black "node" coming out of the cabin top near the windshield wiper stem. The hose fit over that stem and was secured by a small zip tie. The "node" is held on by a nut which is accessible from inside the cabin by removing the windshield motor cover.

In my case, silicone was glopped around the plastic fitting coming out of the valve at the helm (presumably at the factory!) and two large pieces broke off inside that fitting and clogged the plastic hose at the "node." I had to remove the hose from inside the cabin in order to flush it out. Now it works great, but leaks slightly at the valve when turned on.

Thanks - Mine is an 04 and it sounds by your description that the stem that scerw into the node snapped off. I will probably have to order the node and stem to get back in business - Thanks for reply
 
I had to replace the same part and was available thru my local Grady dealer. The part is a plastic thru the hull piece that connects to the washer hose in the cabin. It is a cheap easy fix.
 
Just did that repair today. Pleasant surprise, the part was $6 and I was able to re-use the hose. You will need to dig out the old broken off stem with a pin or something like that.
 
Thaks - its always nice to heat a cheap fix. As you are all aware it is a term not often used in the baoting world!!
