Some of those lakes have a great deal of limestone (hardness) which can deposit in the motor and eventually interfere with cooling. You may want to look into scale removers and perhaps use it in your flush a couple times per season

My motors are pretty new, use salt away after every use ocean and delta.

Doc, yes you may be mad scientist, but so glad your are willing to share your madness with the rest of us patients who do enjoy your sightful explanations. Should have paid more attention to my Science teachers........appears to be too late now!
