Scammers!

It would be great if the mods could stop in once a day and get rid of the offending posts. It's one thing to have the crap here but it just tends to stay here, really annoying.
I have always appreciated this site, and the work done to keep it up.
I've been here a very long time, but I am saying goodbye for now.
I may stop back someday to see how it looks, but I am just so tired of all this SPAM crap.

Sorry to see you go ocnslr. I have always enjoyed your posts.
It would appear that some of the problem with the scammers is that of the forum three moderators one has not logged in in almost two years, one almost one year and the site administrator has not been on since Wed. In club section the mods there for the most part are pretty much AWOL also. Like ocnslr I appreciate the effort it takes to run a site and the responsibilities of being a mod as I am a mod on another board. Maybe the admin. could add a couple of active members as mods to at least be able to delete these junk posts, share the load a bit. If the posts don't stay on the board maybe the spam would decrease. I hate to see good contributers go by the boards because of the spammers.

:uhm 'The Hull Truth' had a deal not too long ago where any member making a post or reply had to pass a little test. Kind of a pain, but might weed out robo-posters ...
Why leave? Just bypass the spam and click on posts you want to read.

Who is going to take care of the Islander folks? And then some. If it wasn't for you my boat would not have the 6500 btu A/C I installed myself. Been many a day of humidity so bad I called it to duty. Not as young as used to be. The installation is not so simple that I would go at it w/o some first hand advice I could take at value it is from someone I trust not the usual sales pitch.
And the costs of everything involved was the other factor - would have to sell it all.
Pretty much I look at subjects and skip those I see would be in that light. I recall the one with the viagra, etc. Incredible the ways people are figuring out how to work w/o actually working, the way I see it. Pimples on my butt, but they bother me for a while then go away.

I just ignore the spam but is anyone flagging them?

I realize I'm new here, but I have been a moderator on several automobile message boards and I'd be happy to dedicate some time to being on here daily in order to help clean out the garbage posts.

I PMd Seafarer back on the 25th about the spam, he visited the site on the 29th but my PM is still in my outbox and all the spam is still here. The other two mods have not been on the site since forever so I guess there is no one else to contact. :bang
I'm guessing that Tri State marine and the others pay to advertise on this site so I would be really upset that these scammers are advertising for free.

I too have offered to serve as a moderator and clean out the spam....I check the board almost daily anyway. My PM to Jeff hasn't been read, either. 
I come back to check the TGWC forum and I log in if I need to clean any crap out of there.
I would also be happy to delete these garbage posts in the main forums, if I could.
