Hi, new to greatgrady.com forum. Just took delivery of a new 2012 Seafarer 226 w/250 Yamaha and the fuel gauge blinks on one bar only (empty) with 80+ gallong in tank. I've read similar issues on older models with somewhat similar problems but not sure if it is the same specific sending issue. Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on your purchase.

Surprised the dealer didn't catch it on the Pre-Delivery...have you reached out to him. I suspect he will want to repair it quickly - before you get the survey from GW.

Rigging issue. Either a wire problem, dip switch on the gauge, or in the sender. Like posted above- the dealer will take care of it.

Does your 226 have dual tanks? Are you sure you are reading the tank that actually has 80 gallons in it.

I had a 226 with dual tanks...if I recall you had to flip a switch on the panel to show readings between the aux and main tank.

90% of the time the problem is your ground connection.

Mine just fell off the other day and needed to be reconnected. It should go to the common ground lug on the transom.

I had a similar issue with my new Freedom 225. When I picked up from the dealer is showed 58 gallons "available". Knowing the boat had been in stock for two years and that it had been demo'ed for 10 hours, I really didn't think they would have left 58 gallons in it, so I added 5 gallons. It then showed 53 gallons available, causing me to think the "available" meant the number of gallons it took to fill the tank. The dealer assured me not. I used the boat a couple of times for no more than 30 minutes each trip. On the 3rd trip out, it showed 47 gallons "available", causing me to think it had either 47 or 49 in the tank (96 gal capacity). The gauge had been set up properly as I saw where it was set for 96 gal capacity. After running 30 minutes or so, it cut off, out of gas. I had to be towed in even though it still showed 41 gal available. I then noticed the bottom bar blinking. The dealer was to replace the gauge anyway because after sitting up for so long in stock without the a gauge cover, the surface had been ectched in rainwater and looked weathered. When I took it in to them, I relayed the above and asked them to also check the sending unit. They replaced the gauge and added 30 gallons. The bar graph now appears accurate, but I can't get the "available" reading to come up. I've played with the menu display settings and can get the word "Available" to the left of the bar graph to appear, with a blank space below it the word "available". The space is where the number should appear. Dealer was to check with Grady, but I haven't heard back yet.
