That's where my numbers came from, part from the specs and part from real world info for my own situation, i.e. I'm packing 4 batteries whereas most 226/228 will only have 2.
Are you sure you weren't doing your math after that 3rd rum and coke? :)

Boat: 3510
Engine: 500
92g tank: 600
(4) Batt's: 240
Trailer: 1,000
Water: 65
Gear/misc/etc: 500
Hardtop: 250

Total: 6,665

Aux gas tank: 365

Ok, official measurement of my 228 on a Loadmaster trailer, motor tilted up for trailering, is 32' -10 1/2", round up to 33'.

Thank you for the reply. Looks like I’ll have to do a little more work to get the parking area long enough.

Anyone know the length of a 228 on the trailer? About 33’6” a fair guess?

I have a 2009 228. The length of the boat alone is 29 feet from engine to bow pulpit. You can subtract the length of the bow pulpit to get back to the trailer eye, so you're probably around 27 feet for the boat alone. Just add the distance from the winch to the hitch. Sounds like you already have a trailer. If the overall length of the trailer is 29 feet the 228 may not fit. If you contact GW customer service they can give you a spreadsheet with all of the dimensions for each model. They have separate spreadsheets for each year.

Sorry for the late reply, didn't have post notifications turned on  Thank you very much for measuring and providing pictures of your setup for me to drool over. I might have to go with an alternate parking spot for both the 226 or 228 (less secure) but should be able to make it work.

Now the fun part comes; finding a used 226 or 228 that has a newer 4-stroke, hard top, bunk trailer (preferably aluminum) from someone/dealer that will ship to Hawaii. I've been checking boattrader pretty regularly but the best looking deal is in FL so I'm thinking trucking and shipping will be near $10k...
