KB, You didn't say what type of livewell you have or where its located. I will assume it's the factory livewell plumbed under the portside rear-facing seat. If that is so, you should have a thru-hull pick-up in the aft bilge with a seacock valve mounted directly onto the thru-hull pick-up and there will be a livewelll pump mounted onto that valve. There may or may not be a remote operation rod accessible in one of the battery compartments. If there is no rod, then you have to remove a pie plate in the splashwell to operate the valve. To use the thing you will put the stand-pipe in the drain in the bottom of the livewell. Make sure that drain is not plugged by mud daubers or trash and drains well. There may be a valve on the inlet of the pump water. Make sure that is open. With the boat in the water, make sure the seacock valve
is open and turn on the pump. The water will fill to the top of the standpipe and maintain that level. Run the pump constantly as long as you have live bait in the well. The flow-rate can be adjusted if there is a valve inside the well. It's OK to bump the livewell pump on and off to see if it runs, while on the trailer at home if need be. Baitwell pumps do not create friction like the cooling water pump on your outboard.
