I need to seal the large deck plates on my voyager and need to know what sealant should I use?
I read on one forum not to use some types because they are hard to remove when you need to gain access at a later date.
Something about West Marine 4200 or 5200 was stated.
Any Help?[/b]

GE Silicone II window and door on gap, your color of choice.
Fill gap, don't bed it.
Add 100 lb mono in gap prior.

Use BoatLife Lifeseal on screw holes.

I use 3M 4000 UV on the gap and seal the screws w/ 5200. Both of those are easier to clean up than silicone.

The mono is used for just in case you want to remove the silicon later, all you do is pull the mono along the gap and cuts the silicon.
