While looking for replacement plastic slides for my set brackets, it occurred to me (DUH) that I don't really need to know who made the seats but rather who made the seat slides. The pedestals probably are the same manufacturer but don't have to be. Well that led me to searching seat pedestals and hardware. And that leads to my question.
I have a 2001 Adventure 208 and the pedestal bases are not round but D shaped.. I know I have looked in the past for D base options unsuccessfully and after spending a bit of time yesterday , can not find a any D base pedestal. The pedestals on my boat are off center on the base and if they were round, they would hang over the side of the 'locker' where they are bolted to.
Has anyone ever run across D shaped seat pedestals? I am beginning to think I would need to get a round one and have it machined and finished to the required shape.
If someone out there has a later model 208, can you let me know if the pedestals are still D shaped?

Thanks

I have a 2004 Tournament 205 and it had "D" shaped bases also. When I was searching, I had the same luck you did. One fellow I talked to said that he thought that the manufacturers don't put the D bases out on the aftermarket but only provide them to boat builders. Sounded kinda lame to me but I never did find any. You might try a surplus place that deals in overstock like the one in Sarasota, just north of me. It's call "Marine Surplus" and they have tons of stuff from lots of different builders. They are located in one of the old Wellcraft plant buildings from the 2007 crash. Give em a call, those guys know a lot of sources....941-758-3552. They have a ton of complete seats from lots of makers out in the second building. The place is like a candy store for guys like us.

Thanks for the info. I don't need a replacement right now but was looking for an adjustable pedestal a while back since I seem to be shrinking as I get older. I currently have a 6 inch extension that I bought and that is fine but it would be nice to able to adjust the position up or down.

Dennis,
I'm embarrassed that I wasn't able to find those bases and believe me I looked!
I even see one with an adjustable pedestal.
Thanks as always.

Well, you're not going to believe this, but... I read your post and then, not 5 minutes later, looked at a new Crestliner that a customer had just brought in for winterization at the shop. Guess what kind of seat bases it had! So then I thought, well, obviously they're still making these so I went to Springfield's website (took at a stab at that manufacturer maybe having them) and that's where I first saw the "flat side base" term. Crazy coincidence, huh!

He doesn't know what he is missing. Nothing like relaxing in sub-freezing temps, trying to get the snow and ice off of the boat covering or in the spring finding that leaky section of plumbing that somehow didn't get drained fully.
All true joys:)
