I don't have a thruster, but I remember reading some things...

Are you reversing thrust quickly? Just like with an engine, it's not good to go from one direction to the other very quickly.

Do you have an Imtra thruster? I seem to recall that they have an excellent "shear pin breakage" trouble shooting guide on their website. Look for that and read up. Maybe it will help.

OEM thruster? which boat?

like dennis said, quick reversing is bad. that said, could be a problem with the leg, may be bad from water intrusion.

my pin has held up nicely (until now of course :shock: ) the prop, on the other hand, is another story.
