Pete, Please just have the bearing and races replaced. It is super cheap insurance and also something your neighbor will hug you for. This is now on my "must do" list before towing any loaded trailer any significant distance. Most boat shops will do it and many RV places will do it. I was fortunate enough to find a mobile technician to do the work. I know it's tough trying to do this remotely. Maybe the seller can help you out?

Why the curb side wheels did not fall off and the boat fall off the trailer is a mystery. The tech who did my repairs couldn't stop talking about it.

Thanks everyone for the good advice. I'm going to look into the cost of replacing the bearings and races and have a chat with the seller about the condition as well. I have had discussions with him about this and he is confident the trailer is ok. It was just serviced, and had new surge brakes installed (actuator at least) and so it is possible the bearings and races were replaced as well. I'll find out though.

Thanks again!

Pete
