I just purchased a new to me car and it has an active XM radio. I am hooked and will extend the subscription when it expires! Problem: the boat has a Sirius radio with the antenna and receiver which I never activated. Since XM and Sirius have merged, will I need two different subscriptions or will 1 subscription would work for both units.

One account for both radios if both are XM. You should get the discount for having two. You will have to pay for the second one but at a much lower rate. I love mine. :D

No discounts yet....they still run two different billing systems, etc...

Part of it has to do with the contracts they signed and the exclusivity rights....for example, you can get all NFL games on Sirius, but only the home feed on XM with best of Sirius package. All MLB on XM, but only certain games on Sirius with best of XM package.

I let my Sirius subscription go and have nothing in the boat now...both of the cars have XM.
