Replaced 2 regular batteries with Deka AGM 31 in my 330 a few weeks back. The other 2 on the inside are already 27 AGMs. Noticed a slight list to port now when looking at stern at dock. I know those 31 were a lot heavier and they are the starter batteries on the outside of the battery bank. Have never noticed any list before and bilges are dry. Would larger batteries cause this?

It seems highly unlikely that about 20 extra pounds is going to make that difference in a 33' boat. I doubt it would even do it in a 20' boat. I'm not sure what you mean by "regular" batteries, but you can check the specs on Deka's website (east penn manufacturing) and see what the real difference is. My estimate should be close enough, though - I think. BUT... put 20lbs on the stbd side and see if it levels out?

My 330 also has a slight list to port, and it definitely got worse after I put in four Group 31s. In truth between various upgrades I've probably added 200+ lbs to the port side of the boat. Even my new fridge weighed 20-30 lbs more than the original.

I'm not sure how well balanced the 330s were from the factory - the water heater and head holding tank are the biggest things on the starboard side - compared with batteries, fridge, A/C unit, cabinetry, etc on the port side.

Agree with Flot. Mine is the same unless I fill the bait well. I also have Group 31s. Good with 45 gallons in the bait well. I move people around when getting on my lift to try and get it perfectly level, sometimes I am successful!

Thanks for the responses! Good to know. We fished Sunday and fuel tanks are half empty. Water tank is empty and list isn’t nearly as noticeable as when fuel tanks were full. Interesting but you are right about the port side having more weight.
