Now the good news is that is wasn't a Grady. The bad news is, I still got to fix it.
Why am I posting this here you might ask yourself? We'll, I figure why not ask the folks that might just know. In the past (way-back - circa Jimmy's Marine era :-| ) I used to pitch in with the occasional bit of fiberglass/gelcoat comment (been doing it commercially 20+ years). Things back then took a turn for the contentious - so I took a brief hiatus.
Now Oldmil needs a bit of help.
I was hopeful that you folks here might be able to point us in the way of finding a salvage yard / used boat parts business. The part we're hunting for is a bow pulpit (roughly 66" L X 32"W) for a 40' Sportfisherman. Size can be approximate, we will adapt to our application. Location isn't an issue, we're used to hefty shipping expenses! (Maine) We can repair this one but we're looking to see if we can save our customer some money by replacing/adapting.
By way of payback I'm going to be posting up the results of my Grady White restoration project five years in the undertaking. (OK, so four years worth of it just sat under the blue tarp. :roll: ). Nonetheless, we all have a soft spot for boat porn and this thing is a real relic, born again. Story and pics to follow.
