It's officially albacore season in southern California. There is a huge spread of fish as they've made their migration across the pacific. This year they've come inside much closer to the beach than the past few years, so it's only a 20 mile run from San Diego. We launched from Dana Point, so we had a 40 mile run to get them There were only about 300 boats in the area which put the fish down and made it hit and miss. We had the best luck getting away from the other boats.
