Hey Yall:
On my old Grady I had a Yammaha f150 and bought a spare aluminum Yammi prop. Never needed to use it. I am gearing up for spring and I never bought a spare prop last season. Yammaha does not suggest using an aluminum prop on the F250 at all. So, what I am looking for is a decent steel prop by any company used for a spare. I was looking at Yammaha's black steel prop, but if folks know of a good compatible steel prop at a great price point, please share.

Thanks :D

Smoky, you can probably get a rebuilt stainless prop for under $150....the aluminum ones bend under load......a rebuilt prop has had the blades tuned and the hub re-bushed so it should be good to go....shop around your local marine shops, they should have plenty for sale...or try Marine Surplus .com but even they will be high for a new prop.

Spare Prop

If you can't buy used or rebuilt, try Bay Propeller in Chesapeake, Virginia. He may even have a used one.

Keep an eye on eBay...I've bought and sold a number of props there...you may be able to pick up an identical Yamaha SWS SS prop for less than $300

That sounds a bit cheap to me. Last year I had a SS yami prop re-hubbed and tuned and that cost $230 in the NYC area. A new prop would have been $500 or more online.
The prop runs great since the tuning

I have two aluminum spares, like against the wind said, just to get home....

Is there engine damage that can be done by running it for 3 hours home on a properly sized aluminum prop? Not pushing it, of course.... Don't need a big hole shot or need to fly 50MPH home....
