Folks
I've a 209 GW with Yamaha command link controls
Today, when I took her out, the speedometer partially quit on me - no speed registered, only the "dashed" line.
As I run through the modes of display, the TRIP and ECON also do not read out.
Yet the TTL and FLOW seem to work fine.
Also, the fuel meter seems right, as well.
Help me out here.
Did I mistakenly do something to alter the display modes, or what?
Thx
B

You probably picked up a piece of trash which clogged the hole on the front of the lower unit that acts as the pitot tube.

Because trip and econ are related to speed (and for that matter - distance), they quit working too.

The flow reading gets its info from the ECU, so no issue there.

Look on the front edge of the lower unit for a tiny hole...use a piece of steel leader cable to gently clean it out....

If you have a GPS hooked to the Command Link you can choose that instead of the pitot (water pressure speed input) If your engine pitot is clogged or not installed, you can choose the GPS speed input by holding down the mode button (if I remember correctly). You can get the Command Link manual on-line from Yamaha and see all of your configuration choices and hidden menus. I'd opt for GPS input as it's much more reliable.

Wanted to thank you both.
Found and cleaned out that orifice, and all is well.
What a wonderful resource this forum is, and its active members.
Thanks again.
