Anyone have a clue why my steering wheel is squeaking? We were out fishing yesterday and my daughter says (she was driving) "Dad the steering wheel is squeaking it needs WD 40 or something". Darn if it was in fact squeaking when we turn the wheel. Anyone had that happen? I have a 2007 Marlin.
thanks,
G'rilla

Hydraulic steering? Check fluid level first.

Snug up nut holding wheel to helm and go behind panel and tighten nuts holding helm to panel.

I guess we both forgot to ask if the squeak happens when the wheel is turned or when 'moved'. In other words, if you keep the wheel pointed in the same direction and push it side to side or front to back and it squeaks, it is probably something that needs to be tightened. If it only squeaks when actually turning and not really 'moving' it may be hydraulic or a shaft bushing. A little testing is in order.
