Stripped everything off her and left her in South Carolina. Going to have some fiberglass work done on the transom to repair some PO repairs that are failing. Also going to have the baitwell lid redone, showing its age. After all that's completed, a full buff and wax. Hope to get her back the end of January, we'll see.

Did the same. Going to have the transom glassed in and pulled off all the bolsters, companion seat and aft seat to recushion and recover.

So...will it go to your indoor storage facility at the end of January for the balance of the winter?

How does that work? Do you have a specific spot in the bldg or do they shoehorn all the boats in and you'll get the space closest to the door once you get it there?

Where I am, they shrinkwrap and store outside. If you go into the bays for work, you eventually come out (rewrapped - I'm sure what you have is saved and added to as needed) and go back on stands. The marina has large fork trucks that can swing up to 40 footers around easily.

Do you have any pics of the transom fixes that are failing? Also, what are you having done to the bait well lid... Fixing the filet board or the entire lid?

My lid aged a lot this season and is bothering me but have too many other things to address this off-season.

Looks like a failed fill job. It leaks brown water which is probably the greenwood breaking down, after I take it out of the water. I've done the hammer test on the area and it still gives me a nice, crisp sound, not a thud like water saturated. They will be drilling it out and will fill and fix it correctly. Also some old screw holes will be addressed. The baitwell lid was attempted to be fixed by a local place here in Kentucky, but the re-sprayed gelcoat has cracked off. Should have taken it to my guy in South Carolina to begin with, but thought I would give the local guy a try.

The resin transfer mold process for the lids isn't robust if you ask me. The underside of the lip is a weak point. I was surprised to find out that fairing compound is used in the corners to get everything smooth. In the NE if you don't cover a GW the moisture gets into this area and when it gets cold, you get areas where the lid is chewed up on the edges - same for hardtop. If you cover the boat, you have a much better shot at not having water get in and the issue to occur. If you ask me, crappy process.
